Installation of AgilePOD Acoustic Pods at the University of Leeds

The University of Leeds, a prestigious institution known for its commitment to student satisfaction and academic excellence, faced a challenge: providing additional quiet and private spaces within its Worsley Building. To address this, the university decided to install AgilePOD acoustic pods, offering staff a conducive environment for meetings, and collaboration.

Problem

The primary challenge was the lack of sufficient quiet areas where faculty and administrative staff could go for meetings and focused working.

Solution

The university partnered with AgileAcoustics to install 10 accessible Pods across key locations in the Worsley Building. These pods are designed to provide private spaces, equipped with modern amenities including power/USB charging, comfortable seating and a workbench, and user-controlled ventilation systems to ensure compliant Co2 levels. The installation was strategically planned to minimise disruption to campus activities.

Implementation

The project involved detailed site assessment and planning by the Facilities Lead and her team to identify optimal locations for the pods. A mixture of office spaces and wide corridors were chosen. Each pod was custom designed to blend seamlessly with the existing aesthetics of the spaces. The installation team ensured that all pods met safety standards and provided user-friendly features.

Outcome

The installation of 10no. inclusive AgilePODs has significantly enhanced the working environment at the University of Leeds. Staff now have dedicated spaces for focused working and meetings. Feedback from the university has been overwhelmingly positive, citing improved concentration and productivity.

Conclusion

The successful installation of acoustic pods at the University of Leeds showcases the university's proactive approach to enhancing campus facilities. By addressing the need for quiet and private spaces, the university has reaffirmed its commitment to providing an optimal environment for both students and staff.
